Alert for all Gmail users, developers keep an eye on your private mail. The Wall Street Journal in a report on Monday claimed that Google lets third-party developers read users’ private Gmail messages. In 2017, Google ensured that its computers will soon stop reading the emails of its Gmail users to personalize their ads.

The search giant earlier said, "Remain confident that Google will keep privacy and security paramount."

According to Google, it provides data only to some of the verified developers and to whom users have granted permission to access email.

The emails can be accessed by some of the Google employees when the user asks the company to do so and gives consent. Besides this, the employees read the emails for security purposes like the investigation of bug or abuse.

"Email data collectors use software to scan millions of messages a day, looking for clues about consumers that they can sell to marketers, hedge funds and other businesses. Google does little to police those developers, who train their computers and, in some cases, employees to read their user's emails," the report further stated.

The Internet giant recently launched a new feature for security and privacy options that facilitates the android user to navigate their accounts.
