In order to launch a new dating app in the digital age, Facebook, a social media leader has begun the testing of the project.

Two months after announcing the project at its F8 developer conference Facebook started testing its dating app internally with employees, media reported on Saturday.

Jane Manchun Wong, an independent researcher was quoted as saying, “Facebook is internally testing Facebook Dating. I can't go past the signup screen because they are not activating all non-employee Dating profiles because, well, it's pre-launch.”

“This product is for US Facebook employees who have opted-in to dogfooding Facebook’s new dating product.”

“The purpose for this dogfooding is to test the end-to-end product experience for bugs and confusing UI. This is not meant for dating your co-workers,” she said.

In response to the post, The Verge confirmed with the company whether it is testing the app or not and the response was that the company was testing the application within Facebook.

During the announcement of the dating application, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg quoted by India Today had said, “This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships and not just for hook-ups.”

“We have designed this with privacy and safety in mind from the beginning. Your friends aren't going to see your profile, and you're only going to be suggested to people who are not your friends,” he added.

Facebook dating app will provide users with a platform to create a dating profile, separate from the Facebook profile.

Facebook dating app will give competition to Tinder and TrulyMadly.
