WhatsApp has now officially announced a new Business application which could be used by businesses to reach their customers. Many small businesses already use WhatsApp for the purpose of magnifying their customer base.

The statement has further mentioned about the tools notifying the user regarding flight times, delivery confirmations, and other updates. WhatsApp verified business accounts will have a green tick next to the contact name.

Matt Idema, WhatsApp Chief Operating Officer said, "We're looking forward to making it possible for people to connect with businesses in a fast and personal way, and giving businesses the tools to make that easier to do."

As of February 2017, nearly 200 million Indian users are active on WhatsApp monthly. The messaging application was acquired by Facebook in 2014.
