Development To Speed-Up In India! Arun Jaitley Launches Google's digital payment app 'Tez'

US-based Tech giant, Google has joined the league of brands which are coming up with platforms integrated with Unified Payment Interface (UPI) by launching its own payment app called 'Tez' on September 18.

Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley who has been very vocal about the usage of digital payment modes in India, himself launched the application with the vision of fastening India's digital growth, just as the name suggests.

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched the payment system, UPI in association with Reserve Bank of India which allows the users to transfer money instantly from one bank account to the other by using any mobile platform with the integrated feature.

The application specifically launched for Indian users is available in various regional languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu apart from Hindi and English. It can be easily downloaded by both Android and iOS users.

'Tez' allows the users to connect their bank accounts with the application in few simple steps. After sending a text message from the option available on the application via the registered phone number, the user will be asked to enter UPI PIN.

The payments can instantly be started once all the required steps are completed. People who are using the application can send and receive money with ease. The app also allows the users to view a list of people on their contact list using 'Tez'.

To ensure the security of your bank details, Google's 4-digit security PIN or screen/pattern lock to open the app is required to be entered. The application also allows a "Cash Mode" option which lets the user send or receive payments to anyone nearby without sharing details.

For businesses, Google has announced another "Tez for Business" app which will allow the business people to explore the potential of digital payments. Online businesses can integrate the "Payment Request API" so that they can securely accept UPI payments using 'Tez' on their mobile websites.

Reportedly, Facebook-owned WhatsApp is also working on integrating UPI transactions on its platform. Some mobile messaging platforms like WeChat and Hike Messenger already support UPI-based payment services.
