Government has been taking significant steps to promote the street fashion of North East on global platform and bring the talented individuals from the clutches of darkness while making the world aware of India's naturally-stylish hub.

A glimpse of North Eastern magic was witnessed by spectators at the Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort where many heart-touching stories of individuals hailing from seven sisters were unfolded, igniting a feeling of pride in the hearts of their compatriots.

The lively performance by the Tetseo sisters grabbed many eyeballs but the soul-stirring tales showcased by the Ace designers through their North East inspired designs worn by talented models while walking the ramp.

Clad in bell-sleeved tunics, skirts and dresses made up of handloom textiles, Richana Khumanthem's designs were inspired by hardships faced by women artisans in availing and accessing raw materials, halting their progressive steps.

Meghalaya-based designer Daniel Syiem showcased the women weavers' struggle battling the hardships of life through a collection of stories. Pointing towards the biggest challenge of production, he presented a collection rich in layered silhouettes.

Another designer from the North East Sonam Dubal explored his knack for extremist fashion by working with recycled vintage fabrics, ikar, indigenous silk among others to create an understanding of rich and sophisticated culture among the masses.
