Senior BJP Leader Subramaniam Swamy on Tuesday slammed Cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Pakistan travel plan for attending the swearing-in ceremony of PM-designate Imran Khan.

Swamy while addressing the media said, “This visit would be a big blow to his political career, people will call it treachery and if he is mentally sound and stable he should not do the same.”

Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev had turned downed the invitation of the PM-designate and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) for the swearing-in ceremony of the PM-elect Imran citing personal reasons.

Earlier on Monday, Navjot Singh Sidhu was seen visiting Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. After the visit, Sidhu had said that he had applied for a permit from the Indian government and that his travel to Pakistan depended on the permission by the Government of India.

Sidhu after his visit to the Pakistan High Commission said to the reporters, "There are some formalities for which I am here, I have applied for govt permission. Everything depends on India govt's permission now."
