Durishetty Anudeep From Hyderabad Tops UPSC Followed By Anu Kumari And Sachin Gupta From Haryana

Indian Revenue Service Officer Durishetty Anudeep has topped the civil services 2107 exams for which the results were announced on Friday. He broke the three years streak maintained by females candidates bagging the first position.

Hailing from Metpally village of Jagityal district of Telangana, Anudeep is the son of Durishetty Manohar, an engineer, and Durishetty Jyothi, a homemaker. He cleared the examination with Anthropology as his optional subject. An OBC candidate, Anudeep has graduated with BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) degree from BITS, Pilani. He had cleared IRS in the second attempt.

He is currently posted as an Assitant Commissioner in Hyderabad.

"It was not an easy journey. I am thankful to the people who have supported me throughout my journey. I am really happy," he said.

Anu Kumari of Haryana's Sonipat district has secured the second rank in UPSC 2017 examination and she is also topper among the female candidates. 31 years old Anu is married to a businessman and has a 4 years old son. A graduate in physics from Delhi University, Anu has an MBA from IMT Nagpur. She left her job two years ago to focus on her bid to crack the UPSC exams. She wants to join IAS to bring change in the lives of women and children.

Sachin Gupta, a native of Sirsa district of Haryana secured the third rank. He is already working as an assistant director in the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Gupta took the online coaching from Chandigarh to prepare for the examinations.
