Telangana Assembly Election: BJP Ready To Support TRS, If The Party Agrees To Leave Owaisi’s AIMIM

Just before 2 days for election results, Telangana BJP chief K Laxman on Sunday hinting post-poll support to TRS leader K Chandrashekar Rao in the state revealed that no government can be established without the saffron party's support.

Speaking to media K Laxman said, "The TRS has to make its stand clear. If the TRS aligns with Majlis (AIMIM), there is no question of the BJP extending support to it. BJP will support non-Congress, non-Majlis party. The final decision will be taken by Amit Shah and Narendra Modi, but no party will get clear majority in Telangana."

The offer is likely to boost Congress and TDP’s claim of the TRS being a ‘B-team’ of the BJP. The Bharatiya Janta Party had also made a similar charge against KCR, accusing him of colluding with the ‘Mahakutami’ or grand alliance of the Congress and TDP.

According to media reports Asaduddin Owaisi had earlier said that his party would win the seats that fall in Hyderabad, while the government would be formed by KCR again. He, however, also said his party would not join the government.

This is the first assembly election that the state is facing after it was carved out of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. The counting of votes would be taken up on December 11.
