SP Spokesperson Pankhuri Pathak Receives Rape Threat On Social Media

Samajwadi Party (SP) spokesperson Pankhuri Pathak has alleged that she was threatened of being raped by a Twitter user who goes by the name Pankaj Shukla.

In her tweet on Saturday, that consisted of a picture of the threat message and the person's profile, the SP leader asked the authorities, which she tagged in her tweet, whether they would take any action against him.

As shown in the picture, the message said, you should also be raped, how are you safe.

She tweeted on September 29, "This man who works in Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited says I should be raped. Will Srikant Sharma, CM Yogi, UP Chief Secretary and UP Police take any action against him?"

In the following tweet, the SP spokesperson had said that she was not afraid of any sort of threat directed towards her. She had also questioned whether the government employees should write such comments on social media.

The tweet posted by the spokesperson on the micro-blogging website has gained a lot of public attention. So far her tweet has gained over 1.2 thousand likes, 1.6 thousand re-tweets and 388 comments.

Earlier Pankhuri had posted on facebook asking what has the BJP government not done yet, responding to which the person had allegedly made that comment.

Pankhuri Pathak has already filed a complaint in Mayapuri Police station, but no action has been taken so far.
