Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday moved an anticipatory bail plea in Delhi Patiala House Court in the Sunanda Pushkar death case. Tharoor has been summoned by a Delhi Court as an accused in the case.

"Legal procedures in the case are underway. But I don't believe allegations against Shashi Tharoor. I had a good relationship with his family when they got married. I think there is politics in the allegations. Let the court decide." says former Defense Minister AK Antony on Sunanda Pushkar Death Case to ANI.

"SIT categorically stated in the charge sheet that probe is concluded & no custodial interrogation of any person is required. Law is very clear that if charge sheet is filed without arrest, bail is inevitable. Matter fixed for consideration at 10 am tomorrow: Counsel of Shashi Tharoor" reported ANI in another tweet.

Earlier the minister claimed that charges against him are baseless and he would co-operate in the investigations and court proceedings.

"I will continue to vigorously contest these charges and maintain my steadfast conviction that ultimately the truth will prevail through the judicial system that we are privileged to have in our country," Tharoor said.

"I have taken notice of the developments in the case being heard by the Honorable Judge of the Patiala House Court in relation to the circumstances surrounding the untimely demise of my late wife, Mrs Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor," he said.

"As I understand, the court has issued summons against my name and I have been asked to appear before the court on Saturday, 7th July 2018. I would like to point out that, from the very start, I have fully cooperated with the investigating team and continue to maintain that due legal process must be followed in all aspects related to this case," Tharoor had said in a statement.
