Security Forces Kills Two Terrorist In J&K's Pulwama

Two unidentified terrorists were killed in an encounter by security forces on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama following information about the presence of terrorists in the area, a police official said.

Floodlights were deployed around the cordoned off area to prevent the terrorists from escaping under the cover of darkness.

He said a gun battle ensued as the terrorists opened fire at the security forces. Two terrorists were gunned down, the official said, adding that their identities and group affiliation were being ascertained.

Yesterday, militants hurled a grenade on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's at Sherbagh Chowk  Anantnag district, injuring seven people, including three women and two CRPF jawans.

"The explosion resulted in injuries to five persons, including three women, and two CRPF jawans," the police said.

The injured were identified as Rehana Begum, Sobiya Jan, Naza Begum, all three residents of Anchidora; Irfan Dar, a resident of Lal Chowk Anantnag and Mohd Hussain, a resident of Sofipora.
