To promote his ideas, he edited many magazines from 'Nation's Dharma' to 'Panchjanya'.

On February 10, 1968, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya went from Lucknow to Sealdah Express to go to Patna. But when the train reached Mughalsarai Station,he was not found in the train. His body was found on the tracks near the railway station.

However, due to his death in mysterious circumstances many people are not satisfied till today. Some people also see a political conspiracy in it. Nonetheless, the actual causes of his death have not been confirmed till date. In 2017, many politicians demanded that the matter should be examined again.
