Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping his women disciples, submitted a list of 10 names of 'regular visitors' to the Sunaria jail officials where he is interred.

However, from the list of names given by Ram Rahim, none of the persons identified as his possible 'regular visitors' were available for the police verification in Sirsa on Monday. According to reports, the family has left the Dera.

While the list, unsurprisingly includes adopted the daughter and close confidante Honeypreet Insan, his wife Harjeet Kaur is missing from the list.

Prisoners generally submit a list of up to 10 people, usually family members, that they expect as regular visitors to the prison where they are held so as to make it easier for authorities and police to verify the credentials of the visitors.

The list given by Ram Rahim includes the names of his mother Nasib Kaur, son Jasmeet Insaan, daughter-in-law Husanpreet Insaan, daughters Amarpreet and Charanpreet, sons-in-law Shan-e-Meet and Ruh-e-Meet, dera management chairperson Vipasana and an old loyalist Daan Singh in addition to Honeypreet.

Sirsa Sadar station house officer (SHO) Dinesh Kumar led a police party to the Dera premises to verify the 10 persons named by Ram Rahim as his 'mulakaatis' (visitors) in the Sunaria jail of Rohtak.

Since the family members were not available, the verification process for Ram Rahim's visitors may be delayed by up to a week, sources said.

On August 25, after Ram Rahim was convicted in the rape cases, widespread violence spread across Haryana, Punjab and Delhi as his supporters resorted to attacks and arson, resulting in the death of 38 people.
