Rajasthan has been hit by a massive protest by agitating farmers. Multiple roads have been blocked and routes to Sikar have been cut off.

The Rajasthan Police in an attempt to stop the Farmers protest organized by the All India Kisan Sabha, arrested the top leadership of the movement up to the tehsil level, a step that further infuriated the protestors who have been demanding implementation of the Swaminathan Committee recommendations and loan waiver.

The arrest of Farmer leaders has also given a new lease of life to CPI (M). CPI (M) and All India Kisan Sabha leaders have appealed to the farmers to go to Jaipur according to their schedule and asked them to organize mass sit-in if stopped by the police.

A group of farmers also tried to burn effigies of the Chief Minister; these protestors were detained and then released away from the city.

Demonstrations have also been witnessed in Bikaner, Ganganagar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur.

The All India Kisan Sabha has demanded that the Government release all the protestors and threatened that their patience otherwise will run out. They also reiterated their demand of loan waiver from the state government.
