Rajasthan Govt Increases The Compensation To 50 Lakhs For The Families Of Martyrs In Pulwama Attack

The Rajasthan government on Saturday revised the compensation to the family members of CRPF jawans from the state who were among the 40 martyred in the Pulwama terror attack to Rs. 50 lakh from Rs. 25 lakh.

The government has also announced jobs to family members of the five martyred jawans in Pulwama attack.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, "the brave soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice while securing the country, and state government are with the family of martyrs in this hour."

He said the government has revised the compensation to the families of soldiers killed in military or paramilitary operations.

The government will provide either Rs. 50 lakh cash or Rs.25 lakh cash and 25 bigha land on the Indira Gandhi Canal Project or Rs. 25 lakh with a housing board residence, he added.

He further said the state government will continue to provide a government job to a dependent of the soldier, scholarship for children and Rs. 3 lakh to parents, besides other facilities.

Gehlot prayed for peace to the departed souls and courage to the family members. He also wished a speedy recovery to those who were injured in the deadly terror attack.

The attack was carried out when more than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, many of them returning from leave to rejoin duty in the Valley, were travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles when they were ambushed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Latoomode in Awantipora in south Kashmir around 3.15 pm on Thursday.
