Rahul's Another Jibe At Modi Govt: Economy Is In ICU, Dr Jaitley's Medicine Not Working

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi who has over the past few months become adept at levelling jibes at the ruling government and BJP by means of Twitter, once again took to the micro-blogging network, this time to slam Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the condition of the economy, alleging that Jaitley's efforts at improving it were not working.

Gandhi tweeted, "Dr. Jaitley, the demonetisation and GST have pushed the economy into the ICU, you say you are no less than anyone, but your medicine is not that effective".

Using a hospital metaphor, where only the most critical patients are taken into the Intensive Care Units (ICU), Gandhi hinted at the critical state of the economy, and implied that the measures taken by Jaitley to remedy the economy were not helping.

Barely 24 hours ago, Gandhi adapted the famous Star Wars dialogue 'May the Force Be With You' to tell Arun Jaitley 'May the Farce Be With You' in the wake of a report which predicted a growth in the GDP.

Similarly, on October 24, Rahul Gandhi had compared the Congress' vision for GST as 'Genuine Simple Tax' as compared to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's GST which Gandhi denoted as 'Gabbar Singh Tax'.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Arun Jaitley alleged that the Congress did nothing to counter black money.

"Congress had adequate opportunity to be in power, and I can't recollect a single significant step that they ever took against black money," said Jaitley.

The Congress and other Opposition parties are planning to observe the one year anniversary of the demonetisation announcement on November 8, 2017 as the 'Black Day', the same day which will be celebrated as 'Anti-Black Money Day' by the BJP.
