Rahul Gandhi on Saturday used a video of Home Minister Rajnath Singh to attack Prime Minister Modi.

The Prime Minister in his Thanks motion to the President’s speech had responded to Congress leader Mallikarjun Khadge’s remark saying, “How can one of the leaders say India got a democracy due to Pandit Nehru and the Congress Party? Is this their reading of India's history? What arrogance is this”? Prime Minister Modi said in the Parliament.

The video shared by Rahul Gandhi is from Jawaharlal Nehru’s 126th birth anniversary in 2015. The Union Home Minister praised Nehru in his speech and lauded him for strengthening democracy in the nation.

The video shows him say ”No one can deny the fact that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was a very experienced and matured freedom fighter. If there was one leader who was at the forefront in taking efforts of strengthening the foundations of democracy in India, it was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru…”

Rajnath Singh in his speech called Nehru a personality of international stature who was hailed by publications of not just India but of developed nations. He also commended the economic wisdom of Nehru.

While Rahul shared a 2:13 minute video of the speech, you can listen to the complete speech here.
