Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took to his Twitter account to take a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the rising prices of petrol and diesel.

Gandhi tweeted a video taken from one of Prime Minister Modi's election campaign where he asks people if the prices of petrol and diesel had come down. The video, however, has shots from a comedy show and made to mock the PM over the present prices.

The caption of the tweet reads, "The poor & the middle class bear the brunt of rising fuel prices. In this video, our PM is quite obviously talking about some other country."

Gandhi also used the hashtag #PeTrolled and the video is titled “The King of Misinformation”.

The hike in petrol and diesel prices prompted the petroleum and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan to demand the inclusion of petrol and diesel in the GST framework. Speaking to media he said, "I appeal to the GST council that these products be included in the GST framework. Consumers should get the products on a rational price in the entire country."

Campaigning for Kiran Bedi during the Delhi Assembly Elections, PM Modi had famously said, "If because of my good luck, prices of petrol and diesel get reduced and common man saves more, then what is the need for bringing someone who is unlucky".
