Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday while speaking on the Rafale Deal said that it is a perception battle and also claimed that she will hold a press conference across the nation to clarify people on the alleged aircraft deal row.

The Defence Minister while speaking to the media said, “This is a perception battle. We will fight this battle. We'll go to places and state facts on record on Rafale. Congress designs to run a smear campaign against us at an international level.”

She also said that these allegations had an international dimension and all this is being done to tarnish the image of the Party internationally. She said, “There is a false propaganda-based campaign of the Congress. Moreover, there is an international dimension to the Congress' campaign. It is not a mere coincidence."

Earlier this day, the Bhartiya Janta Party also slammed the Congress Party for it’s claim and also alleged that the Rafale deal was cancelled during the UPA regime because the French counterpart had refused the Congress’s demands. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “Congress wanted to use Sanjay Bhandari company and Robert Vadra company as a middleman (for this deal). And when their attempt failed to materialize, they (Congress) want to take revenge by ending this deal.”
