Protesting Against Petrol & Diesel Price Hike, Shiv Sena Puts Up Posters, Compares Prices

Launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, BJP ally in Maharashtra Shiv Sena put posters across Mumbai inked with rising cooking gas prices, petrol prices and diesel prices, media reported on Saturday.

The posters gained attention as Shiv Sena taking a dig at Modi government used a slogan of ‘Yehi hai acche din’ and compared previous fuel prices.

The reason Shiv Sena and other political parties are protesting against a continuous hike as petrol and diesel prices hitting a record high on a daily basis which has reached Rs 87.89 per litre and Rs 77.09 per litre in Mumbai and Rs.80.50 per litre and Rs.72.61 per litre in Delhi.

This continuous hike in petrol and diesel price has been attracting acute criticism from commoners and denting their pockets.

Apart from Shiv Sena, other opposition parties like Congress had also announced Bharat Band on September 10, protesting against rising fuel prices in the country. 

While announcing Bharat Band on Friday Gehlot had said, “Rising prices on diesel, petrol and LPG have burdened everyone. People in the government are not aware that diesel isn’t just used in cars and trucks, but also by farmers who use tractors.”

On the other hand, commenting on the rising fuel prices, Union Minister for Petroleum, Dharmendra Pradhan said on Saturday that external factors are responsible for a hike in petrol and diesel price which are now becoming unavoidable.
