Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took charge as the Congress general secretary at Congress headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday.

She has been allotted a room next to his brother and Congress president's room at the Congress headquarters located at 24 Akbar road, New Delhi.

Notably, after accompanying her husband to the ED office, where he was called for questioning in a money laundering case, Priyanka told reporters that the ED case was a "political witch hunt." She reportedly said, "I stand with my husband. We will fight this witch hunt."

In a photograph circulated by the communication department of the Congress party, Priyanka can be seen interacting with two Congress workers.

A day before taking a charge Priyanka had a nearly two-hour long meeting with her brother and party president Rahul Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia to chalk out the Congress’ UP game plan. Scindia is in charge of UP West.

On Tuesday night Priyanka Gandhi visited slum dwellers at New Delhi’s Aurangzeb Road while on way to meet her brother Rahul Gandhi at his residence which is located next to the Aurangzeb Road cluster.

As per media sources Priyanka was supposed to take charge as the AICC General Secretary for UP-East tomorrow, that is Thursday. Even though Priyanka is holding an official position in the party for the first time, she has been closely associated with the party's electoral campaign in the past, often addressing several rallies in her mother's and brother's constituencies (Rae Bareili and Amethi, respectively.)
