Police Averts Gang War Near Rohini Court, Arrests 4

The Delhi Police on Tuesday averted a gang war by arresting 4 members of the Neeraj Bawana gang. The arrested accused were planning to shot down a rival inside the Rohini Court premises.

The four men were arrested with two pistols and four cartridges outside the Rohini court at 8 am, hours before they were to execute the murder plan, said Rajneesh Gupta, deputy commissioner of police (Rohini).

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajneesh Gupta A team of Special Staff received a tip off that some criminals from Neeraj Bawana gang would come to Rohini Court around 10 a.m. to kill a rival gang member, identified as Gaurav, 30, during a hearing.”

He added, “The special staff of north district had a tip-off about the murder plan. They took position outside the Rohini Court around 7.30 am on Tuesday and alerted us. We sent a team to assist them,”

The police told the media that their target was Gaurav alias Monty, who is in jail for an attempt to murder case and possessing arms. Police said he had a rivalry with Bawana and was to appear at Rohini Court for a hearing.

During interrogation, the accused confessed that they have taken Rs 10 lakh contract from Niraj Bawana gang to eliminate Gaurav. Gaurav along with one Rajesh Dhurmuth were involved in the murder of Niraj Bawana's uncle in March 22, 2017. Rajesh was killed outside Rohini court by four sharp shooters hired by Niraj Bawana in May 10, 2017. During the shootout, Gaurav was apprehended by Haryana police.
