J&K Police Arrests PDP Leader's Driver In Amarnath Terrorist Attack Case

The Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested PDP (People's Democratic Party) leader Aijaz Ahmad Mir's driver in connection with the recent terrorist attack on the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims in which seven were killed.

Shopian’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar confirmed the information saying, “Touseef was cooperating with the investigators. He was deputed as driver some seven months ago from the security wing of Jammu and Kashmir police. He has been detained in a terrorism related case.”

According to sources, Mir’s driver, Touseef Ahmad was detained by the police for questioning along with two others. However, only Ahmad was formally placed under arrest on Friday.

This comes as a development in the recent terrorist attack case that took place on July 10 in Kashmir. Some terrorists attacked a bus full of pilgrims destined towards Amarnath. As many as seven people were killed and nineteen others were injured in the attack. The police suspect Lashkar-e-Toiba’s involvement in the attack and has been hunting the terrorist group in Kashmir ever since.
