Delhi's Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday took a jibe at PM Narendra Modi and called him the PM of Pakistan.

Addressing the crowd at the day-long hunger strike being held by Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, Kejriwal hit out at the PM over the alleged mistreatment meted out to states being run by governments of opposition parties. Naidu is holding a daylong fast demanding special status for his state.

Speaking to media Delhi CM said, "One may have voted for any party but after elections, whoever wins and becomes the CM, is the CM of the entire state and not of a particular party. Similarly, when one becomes the PM, then he is the PM of the entire country, not just one party."

“The way PM Modi treats governments of opposition parties in states, he behaves like he is not the PM of India but PM of Pakistan,” Kejriwal said.

The AAP leader’s derogatory remarks came after some shocking posters were put up at the fast site in the national capital. One of the placards read, "Jiske haath mein chai ka jhootha cup dena tha uske haath mein janata ne desh diya (the one who was supposed to be given a used tea cup, has been given the country to run by the people)."

Meanwhile, Naidu's daylong fast became a rallying point for opposition leaders to come together and hit out at the Narendra Modi government.

While Naidu said that Modi was not following 'raj dharma' by denying Andhra Pradesh special status, Rahul Gandhi stated: "The prime minister has stolen from the people from Andhra Pradesh and he has given that money to Anil Ambani. That is the fact of the matter."

Derek O'Brien of the TMC said, "Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others".
