PM Narendra Modi Accorded With Seoul Peace Prize 2018

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with one more International award. Narendra Modi was awarded the Seoul Peace Prize 2018 on Wednesday.

According to media reports, the Ministry of External Affairs informed in a statement that he has been granted this prestigious award for his contribution to high economic growth in India and the world through ‘Modinomics’for reducing the social and economic disparity between the rich and the poor.

The committee also credited him for his contribution toward regional and global peace through a proactive policy with countries around the world under the ‘Modi doctrine’ and the ''Act East'' policy, it said.

"Modi is the fourteenth recipient and the only Indian to bag the award will receive a diploma, a plaque and honorarium cash prize at a mutually convenient time," according to the statement released.

Seoul Peace Prize was established in 1990 as an effort to crystallise the Korean people’s urge for peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of the world.

The Seoul Peace Prize Cultural Foundation is headed by Chairman Kwon E-hyock. He made the announcement following its final selection meeting in Jung-gu, Seoul. The committee labelled Modi "the perfect candidate."

The past laureates of the Seoul Peace Prize included former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and renowned international relief organisations like Doctors Without Borders and Oxfam.

It is indeed a proud moment for the whole nation as our Indian PM Modi's efforts have been recognized towards boosting global cooperation and raising global economic growth.
