Congress President Rahul Gandhi, currently said to be on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrimage has shared pictures from his trip, but none featured him, leading to speculations whether he was actually on the holy pilgrimage or not.

More pictures surfaced on media on Friday showing Rahul Gandhi posing with other pilgrims, to which BJP leader Giriraj Singh made a jibe, calling them photoshopped.

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Giriraj Singh tweeted a picture of Rahul Gandhi posing with pilgrims and wrote, "Ye to photoshop hai...chhadi ki parchai gayab hai (This appears to be photoshopped...the shadow of the stick is missing)."

Rahul Gandhi had left for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on August 31 to seek blessings of Lord Shiva for "prosperity and success of the country and its people". He had in April expressed his desire to undertake the pilgrimage after a mid-air accident was averted while he was flying to Karnataka for assembly poll campaigning.

On September 5, Gandhi tweeted about his journey and also shared pictures of the sights, but none of the pictures showed him personally.

"A man goes to Kailash when it calls him. I am so happy to have this opportunity and to be able to share what I see on this beautiful journey with all of you," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

"The waters of lake Mansarovar are so gentle, tranquil and calm. They give everything and lose nothing. Anyone can drink from them. There is no hatred here. This is why we worship these waters in India," he added.

Soon after Rahul Gandhi tweeted the pictures, Priti Gandhi, National In-Charge of Social Media of BJP Mahila Morcha, tweeted the same images and questioned whether he was 'really' at Mansarovar.

"Are you downloading pics from the internet and tweeting? Are you really at Mansarovar or some place else?" Priti tweeted.
