No Plastic Cups, Glass, Polythene In Uttar Pradesh From 15 July: CM Yogi Adityanath

After Maharashtra now the Uttar Pradesh government is all set to impose a ban on plastic from 15 July onwards.

“We have issued an order from July 15, to ban plastic in the entire state of the country. I would recommend that plastic cup, glass, polythene should not be used after July 15 and for that, we all should work together,” said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In a previous attempt to ban plastic in the Uttar Pradesh the Allahabad High Court on November 18, 2015, had directed UP government to issue a notice regarding a complete ban on plastic use across the state by the end of that year. In order to make Uttar Pradesh, an environment-friendly state government in return had issued the notice in January 2016.

Later the Noida authority and Gautam Budh Nagar district was failed to enforce the order to ban plastic. After that in 2017 again authorities had failed to stop the use of polythene.

It is for the third time when the Uttar Pradesh government is trying to impose the ban on plastic use in the favour of the eco-friendly environment.

Recently Maharashtra government on March 23, 2018, had also successfully imposed a ban on plastic use in the state in March.
