Nawazuddin Siddiqui Shares Pride As Mom Is On BBC's 100 Most Influential Women List

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who has swept us away time and again with his acting prowess, proving that a fair complexion and stereotypical good looks are not necessary for success in the filmy world, was a typical son as he shared his pride on his mother Mehroonisa Siddiqui being featured on the BBC's 100 Most Influential Women List.

Sharing his happiness on his mother being featured on the esteemed list, Nawazuddin tweeted "A lady who showed courage against all odds being in a conservative family from a small village-My Mother."

Along with the tweet, Nawaz shared a vintage style picture of himself with his mother.

Apart from Mehroonisa Siddiqui, other famous women on the BBC's 100 most influential women list of 2017 include Mithali Raj the Indian women's cricket team captain, social entrepreneur Dr. Urvashi Sahni and business analyst Nitya Thummalachetty.

In 1999, Nawazuddin made his debut in Bollywood with a small role in Aamir Khan-starrer Sarfarosh, and continued with small roles in several other movies before he gained fame for his role as a journalist in Peepli Live (2012).

Since then, there has been no turning back for Nawazuddin as he starred in successful films Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur, Talaash, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Manjhi - The Mountain Man and most recently Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. His role in the film 'Haraamkhor' won him the Best Actor award at the New York Indian Film Festival.

Nawazuddin's will next be seen in Nandita Das' Manto which is scheduled for a December release.
