Days after the Forest Minister C Sreenivasan said that the party members had lied about the health condition of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, minister Vellamandi Natarajan has said he did not see her either.

Natarajan on Sunday said he did not see late chief minister Jayalalithaa during her hospitalisation last year and offered to depose before the one-man inquiry commission set up to probe her demise.

He said, "I did not see Amma (Jayalalithaa) when she was in the Apollo Hospital. We could go only up to the second storey of the hospital. After that, no one was allowed (into her room)."

"I will tell this truth to the commission if they summon me and ask me. In fact, all the ministers are ready to depose before the commission," he added.

Interestingly, some other AIADMK leaders have also recently come up with contradicting claims over access to Jayalalithaa during her hospitalisation.

This, however, comes days after the report that AIADMK had imposed a diktat on party members not to talk about the hospitalisation on former AIADMK chief. The issue has been resurfacing in the news ever since the two AIADMK factions merged last month.

Earlier, Forest Minister C Sreenivasan had said that the party members had lied about the health condition of the Former Chief Minister. He revealed that the leaders lied to the media that people met her while the truth was that nobody saw her.

He had also said that now-jailed Sasikala was the only one who met the leader in the hospital. Responding to which, TTV Dinakaran had said that ever Sasikala wasn't allowed to see 'Amma' after her condition got critical.

Fulfilling one of the conditions of now Deputy Chief Minister Paneerselvam's faction for the merger, the AIADMK had earlier last month set up a commission to probe into the death of late Tamil Nadu leader.
