Mumbai Rains: Three Reported Dead While Several Injured, Trains Delayed

Two people were reported died and five were injured when a tree fell on them due to heavy rains in Mumbai's Marine Line area. Transport system also got affected due to the heavy rainfall in the city.

A 13 year old was also reported dead due to a wall collapse amidst the heavy rain in Mumbai.

Heavy rains in Mumbai have led to a problem of water logging and an alarming situation for authorities to maintain the heavy traffic in Mumbai.

Ensuring the security of Mumbaikers, Mumbai Police tweeted, “The showers are heavy but so is our ‘bandobast’ on the streets to 'be there' for Mumbaikars. We are always up for duty to help you reach your destination with a little care & caution from you during your journey.”


South Mumbai's Colaba recorded a 90 mm rainfall while Santacruz recorded a 195 mm of heavy rainfalls at around 5: 30 AM on Monday morning.

The India Meteorological Department, Mumbai has said that this heavy rainfall will continue in some parts of the city.

Heavy rains cause a big problem of waterlogging in numerous areas including Malabar Hill, Dharavi, Hindmata, Kabutarkhana, Byculla, Dadar TT, King Circle, Santacruz (East), Marol Maroshi, Nagpada and  Andheri subway.

Divisional Railway Manager of the Western Central Railways, Mumbai Divison while speaking on the problem of delay in trains tweeted, “Due to heavy rain between Virar and Surat all Mail exp. trains arriving at Bandra Terminus ,Dadar Terminus and Mumbai central are expected to be arrived late".
