Modi Govt Does Not Respect Institutions :Rahul Gandhi In Karnataka

Congress president Rahul Gandhi came down heavily on BJP government during his  Jana Aashirwad Yatra on Wednesday in the poll-bound state Karnataka. Rahul kicked off his fifth leg of the election campaign by meeting workers of unorganised sector in Davangere.

Rahul said, "BJP Govt frames policies to benefit big business. Instead of making GST simple, Modi Govt complicated it & made it a 'Gabbar Singh Tax'. Congress believes in empowering small & medium businesses & simplifying GST."

Gandhi hit out on Modi govt giving the example of PNB scam. He said “People like Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi escape with people’s money because the Modi govt does not respect institutions. They are destroying our institutions such as the RBI and the judiciary”

He further said, "Modi Government gave us one of the most complicated GST in the world. Only Sudan & Pakistan have a GST system which is more complicated.We will fundamentally change the GST and simplify it when we come to power at the centre in 2019."

Rahul said, "The Congress believes that the country belongs to everyone. We are proud of all the states, their languages, their traditions and their cultures"

After addressing a public meeting at Chitradurga, the Gandhi scion will go to Siddaganga Math in Tumakuru district to meet the 111-year-old seer of Siddaganga Mutt Shivakumara Swamy, a revered Lingayat pontiff.

Gandhi would conclude another round of campaigning by addressing a public campaign at Magadi in Ramanagar district before leaving for Delhi.

Polling for the 224 Assembly segments will be on May 12 and votes will be counted on May 15.
