Mumbai: Missing HDFC Vice President Siddharth Singhvi's Body Recovered, One Arrested

The Mumbai police on Monday recovered the body of the Vice President of the HDFC Bank Siddharth Singhvi approximately five days after he had allegedly gone missing. One arrest has also been made in connection with the same.

The accused was identified as a 20 year old cab driver named Sarfaraz Shaikh. Reportedly he has confessed to his crime and has named three others involved in the case.

Navi Mumbai Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Tushar Doshi told a local newspaper that Shaikh is a resident of Bonkhode village in Koparkhairane. “He [Shaikh] has confessed to have killed Sanghavi and dumped his body,” Doshi said. “He has been handed over to the Mumbai Police for further interrogation.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjunath Singh while speaking to News World India said, “A case has been registered vide FIR no. 133/18, under section 364, 365 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code   

According to media reports, A day after Sanghvi’s wife filed a missing person’s complaint, as he didn’t return from his Kamala Mills compound office, the police found his car with bloodstains and a knife in Navi Mumbai.

Media reports further said that Investigators have also examined the CCTV footage of Kamala Mills compound, where he used to work, and have found that the executive left the bank around 7.30pm. However, his car could not be located leaving the premises. The last mobile tower location of Sanghavi's phone has also been traced in Kamala Mills around 7pm after which his phone was switched off.
