Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Maneka Gandhi on Monday said she has asked Law Ministry to not keep any age limit to report sexual abuse, thereby allowing people to complain even after 10-15 years of the incident.

Gandhi also said that it is hard to forget the person who did the crime.

Gandhi said, "You'll always remember the person who did it which is why we've written to Law Ministry that complaints should be without any time limit. You can now complain 10-15 years later doesn't matter how much later. If you're going to complain the avenue is still open."

She said that I'm happy that #MeToo campaign has started in India to encourage women to speak about sexual harassment.

"Now a Me Too campaign has started and I'm very happy that it has started. I hope it won't go out of control in the sense that we target people who've offended us in some way. But I think women are responsible and anger at sexual molestation never goes away," Gandhi said.

Under the section of 468 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), any offence including child abuse that leads to a prison term of three years has to be reported within three years of the incident.
