A team of Maharashtra’s Anti Terror Squad (ATS) on Friday raided the house of a Sanatan Sanstha worker Vaibhav Raut. The team recovered around 8 country-made bombs and other explosives during the raid.

According to media reports, Raut has been detained for interrogation and all the seized items have been sent for forensic tests.

A report from a daily newspaper read, “An ATS team under the supervision of a senior IPS-rank officer raided the home of Vaibhav Raut in the wee hours of Friday and searches continued till early morning. Raut, who has been taken into custody for questioning, is likely to be placed under arrest and produced before a local court.”

According to ATS sources, Raut is associated with Sanatan Sanstha. The name of this organization has come in the murder case of Govind Pansare and senior journalist Gauri Lankesh. At present Vaibhav Raut has been detained for questioning by ATS team. He is being questioned in Mumbai.

Slamming the ATS on their action, Sanjiv Punalekar, Raut’s lawyer said, “Anti-Terrorism Squad has not intimated us about the arrest of Vaibhav Raut. Wonder what kind of law is being followed in this country & in Maharashtra. We'll take all legal steps.”
