The National President of the Bhartiya Janta Party, Amit Shah reached West Bengal on Saturday to address a rally in the capital city Kolkata.

While addressing the rally Shah said, “Earlier we used to hear the sound of 'Rabindra Sangeet' every day in Bengal but now you hear only the sound of bomb explosions here. Oppose us as much as you want but we will not stall the process of NRC”

Attacking West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, he said, “for BJP, the country comes first, vote bank comes after that. All Mamata ji has done is to object against NRC. But NRC is the process to throw illegal immigrants out. Shouldn't Bangladeshi immigrants be thrown out?”

He further said that the Bangladeshi infiltrators have become the vote bank of Trinamool Congress.

“Mamata Banerjee may have shut the TV channels or stopped them from broadcasting my speech, but I have confidence on my party workers. Our army of party workers will go from house to house, lane to lane, village to village, district to district, town to town, and city to city... and there is nothing Mamata Banerjee can do to stop us. We are not afraid of hard work,” Shah added further.

BJP President while addressing the rally added, “How can BJP be anti-Bangla when BJP founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee himself was a Bengali. We are not Bangla virodhi but Mamata virodhi.”

BJP National President Amit Shah also paid tribute to Khudiram Bose at 'Yuva Swabhiman Samavesh Rally in Kolkata. He was accompanied by BJP Kolkata Chief Dilip Ghosh, BJP MP Babul Supriyo and BJP Yuva Morcha President Poonam Mahajan.

Shah also said, "We want to ask Mamata Banerjee why is she protecting Bangladeshi infiltrators? Rahul Gandhi is also not clarifying his stand on the issue. This is because of Congress' vote-bank politics."
