Kamal Haasan To Launch Political Party In Madurai Tomorrow

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is all set to launch his new political party in Madurai, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Haasan is expected to visit his hometown Ramanathapuram, as well as Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai districts during his tour.

Kamal Haasan tweeted the development in Tamil which roughly translates to - Tomorrow is the beginning of our journey. At 6 pm tomorrow we will unveil our party flag at a grand public meeting at the Madurai ground. I will explain the name of the new party and the essence of our policy.

Addressing media at the Chennai airport, Kamal said, "I'll take this press meet as a token of welcome. People who are going to join us are coming tomorrow. Political leaders from other parties are also coming to wish me tomorrow, you'll see them all."

Haasan has been meeting top leaders of political parties in the state of Tamil Nadu. On Monday he had a meeting with DMK patriarch Karunanidhi and MK Stalin. He also had discussions with Rajnikanth.

When questioned about not meeting AIADMK leadership, Haasan replied, "I am entering politics only because the ruling AIADMK party is bad, that is why I am not meeting any of them."

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is also expected to attend the party launch. The Tamil Nadu unit of Aam Aadmi Party tweeted the confirmation.

Haasan has also invited CM of Bihar and Kerala but their presence hasn't been confirmed yet.
