Kamal Haasan All Set To Launch His Political Party Today

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is all set to launch his political party today at 6 PM in Madurai. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also join him at the launch.

Kamal Haasan started his day with a visit to Kalam House, the home of former President APJ Abdul Kalam in Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram on Wednesday. He met Abdul Kalam's older brother at his residence and had breakfast. Haasan was scheduled to visit the school of the former President but had to drop plans as the administration denied permission following opposition from Hindu Munnani.

On his way to Madurai, Kamal Haasan met the fishermen community and said, "Several governments have made different promises and then, when people ask why their promises are not kept, they present different problems before them."

He urged the community to join him at the launch of his party.

He said, "I will come again and I want to talk to you guys. I will take your questions. I will find answers. I want to fix a date soon. Let's fix a date. I don't want to take your questions through post or press, I want to take them personally, upfront."

Kamal Haasan kicked off his yatra across Madurai with a tweet. Calls it "Simple beginnings"

Haasan is scheduled to set out on a yatra from Rameswaram to launch the political party in Madurai.

Haasan will address public meetings on his way to Madurai. He will address a public meeting in his hometown Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram and in Sivaganga.

Earlier, he said he has picked Madurai for the launch as it is the cultural and political capital of the state. It's not clear yet where he will announce the name of his party.

He has already released an anthem, "Nalai Namathe (Tomorrow is ours)".

He reached at Rameswaram on Tuesday evening. Where his supporters given a rousing welcome on his arrival.
