Jammu And Kashmir: Terrorist Abduct Solider From Pulwama, Anti-Terrorist Operations Underway

An Indian Army soldier has been reportedly kidnapped by militants in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jawan has been identified as rifleman Aurangzeb who is a resident of Poonch district. The soldier belongs to 44 Rashtriya Rifles. He was posted in Shopian, where he was part of the army's ongoing anti-terror operations. He was going home on leave in a private vehicle when he was kidnapped.

Two anti-terror operations are also underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama and Bandipora district since morning. Army launched a massive hunt for terrorists hiding in the dense forests. Two suspected militants were killed in cross-firing from both the sides. One Army Jawan lost his life during the operation.

The suspected militants’ bodies were recovered along with arms and ammunition. Security forces are at present ascertaining their identities and group, officials said.

The anti-terror search operations were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir due to the peace initiative of the Central Government on the occasion of Eid.

The operation started after four Border Security Force personnel lost their lives in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Chambliyal sector of Samba in early hours of Wednesday and two personnel were killed and three sustained injuries.

Similar incidents of grenade attack were reported when a group of terrorist fired Under Barrel Grenade Launcher which landed outside the Lassipora Police Station after which on-duty guard hit back with aerial Firing.
