Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Saturday granted regular bail to RJD Chief Lalu Yadav’s wife Rabri, son Tejashwi Yadav and other accused in the IRCTC case.

The court was hearing a case related to alleged irregularities in granting operational contract of two Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotels to a private firm.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had opposed the bail plea saying 'regular bail will hamper the case investigation'. The court will now hear the case on 19th November. Accused Lalu Yadav will appear before the court via video conferencing.

On July 30, Delhi’s Patiala House Court had summoned former Bihar CM and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, wife Rabri Devi and his son Tejashwi Yadav as accused in connection with the irregularities in granting contracts of two IRCTC hotels to a private firm.

Special Judge Arvind Kumar had directed the Yadav family and other accused in the case to appear before it on 31st August. The case relates to the alleged irregularities in granting operational contracts of two hotels of the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to a private firm.

Apart from the Yadav family, the chargesheet also names former union minister Prem Chand Gupta and his wife Sarla Gupta, B K Agarwal, then managing director of IRCTC, and then IRCTC director Rakesh Saxena. The other names in the chargesheet include then group general managers of IRCTC V K Asthana and R K Goyal, Vijay Kochhar, Vinay Kochhar, both directors of Sujata Hotels and owners of Chanakya Hotel.
