Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Arrives In India On a 3 Day Visit

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday on a three-day visit to India. Union Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir received him at the Begumpet Airport in the city.

Telangana Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and other members of Iranian delegation also welcomed him. 

Rouhani would be staying at the five star Taj Krishna at Banjara Hills.

During Rouhani's visit, both Indian and Iranian side will review the progress achieved in bilateral relations and will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Rouhani addressed a gathering of 'ulema' or religious scholars of different groups, academicians and other prominent individuals on the evening of arrival day.

On Friday, he is scheduled to visit the memorable Makkah Masjid to offer his prayers. He would also address the Friday congregation. Rouhani will be the first head of a state to address a congregation at the 17th-century mosque, which is one of the oldest and biggest mosques in India.

The Iranian President is also scheduled to visit Salarjung Museum, which is acclaimed for the world's biggest exclusive collection of famous artefacts. He will also visit Qutub Shahi Tombs during his three-day visit.

Rouhani will arrive in Delhi on Saturday and will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will also be meeting President Ram Nath Kovind.
