External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in a series of tweets on Friday notified people of the facts on the listing of Masood Azhar under the United Nations Security Council.

EAM Sushma Swaraj said that nine years ago India under the UPA Government was the lone proposer for JeM Chief Masood Azhar as the global terrorist but in 2019 the proposal was moved by USA, France, and the UK and supported by 14 of the 15 UN Security Council Members and also co-sponsored by Australia, Bangladesh, Italy and Japan - non members of the Security Council.

Striking on the opposition she said, “I have shared these facts with you so that leaders who describe this as our diplomatic failure may see for themselves that in 2009, India was alone. In 2019, India has worldwide support.”

On March 14, China had used its veto power as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council to place a "technical hold" on India's bid to designate the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief as a global terrorist for the fourth time since 2009, saying there was not enough evidence against him.

More than 10 countries had supported India's bid to designate JeM Chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist in the United Nations Security Council 1267 list, as co-sponsors.

The JeM, headed by the 50-year-old Masood Azhar, carried out many terror strikes in India and was involved in the attack on Parliament, the Pathankot air force base, army camps in Jammu and Uri. It also claimed responsibility for the February 14 Pulwama suicide attack which left 40 CRPF personnel dead.

In a major setback to India , China continues to use its Veto power in UNSC to protect the chief of terrorists in Pakistan. It did so on 13 March 2019 also. The proposal to declare Masood Azhar as world terrorist failed when China used its Veto power. However , this Vedic astrology writer had alerted the nation for more care and appropriate strategy through hitherto well-known article - “ The Year 2019 Astrologically for India” - published as early as last year on 7 March , 2019 at theindiapost.com. The related text in the article reads like this : - “ February - March 2019. These nearly two months appear to be calling for more care and appropriate strategy in relation to more than one front. BE ON GUARD AGAINST WAR OR WAR LIKE POSTURES OF CHINA AND PAKISTAN”. Later and separately , in November - December 2018 , the alert was brought more closer and precise by adding that such dates as 14 February , 22 February , 3 March and 11-12 March and a day prior and after all these dates look to be calling for more care and appropriate strategy. It seems the alert was precise and meaningful. https://www.theindiapost.com/headline/the-year-2019-astrologically-for-india/
