Income Tax Raids At 16 Locations Linked To AAP Leader Kailash Gahlot

The Income Tax Department on Wednesday has conducted raids at 16 locations linked to Delhi transport minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kailash Gahlot.

According to reports, a team of over 60 tax department officials and police have raided locations in Delhi and Gurugram.

The locations include Delhi's upscale residential areas like Vasant Kunj and Defence Colony, residences in Paschim Vihar, Najafgarh, Laxmi Nagar and Palam Vihar an area in Gurugram where the IT officials have raided.

The raids have been conducted as part of a tax evasion against two firms of Gahlot- Brisk Infrastructure and Developers Pvt Ltd and Corporate International Financial Services Limited.

Both the two firms are controlled and owned by Gahlot.

According to IT officials, Gahlot also provided them incorrect information about his property.

“Friendship with Nirav Modi, Mallya and raid on us?,” Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal questioned in a tweet.

Gahlot is the MLA from Najafgarh assembly constituency of Delhi.
