IAS Ranbir Singh Becomes The New Chief Electoral Officer Of Delhi

Ranbir Singh was appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi on Tuesday. Singh took over the office from Vijay Kumar Dev who has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the national capital.

Ranbir Singh is an IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AG Ranbir Singh who is an IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, 1991.

Dev was appointed as the Chief Secretary following the elevation of Anshu Prakash as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had issued the order stating, “With the approval of the competent authority, it has been decided to appoint Shri Vijay Kumar Dev, IAS (AGMUT: 1987) as Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi with effect from the date of joining till further orders.”

Dev had also served as Chandigarh UT adviser and is currently posted as CEO of Delhi, his second stint as the top official in the poll body.
