Heavy Rainfall In Uttar Pradesh: 12 People Killed And 234 Houses Destroyed In Last Two Days

At least 12 people have died and 5 injured till Friday due to continuous heavy rainfall and lightning in 14 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The deadly rainfall had started on Thursday following which the death toll kept on increasing.

Almost 234 houses damaged in the continuous rainfall of which total 134 houses damaged in Kanpur Nagar, the highest among other affected areas.

According to reports, 10 deaths were reported on Thursday among 1 each died in Ambedkar Nagar, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Mirzapur while 2 each died in Gonda, Banda and Kanpur Nagar.

Total 2 deaths were reported on Friday 1 each in Lucknow and Azamgarh.

Most of the deaths were caused due to the wall and house collapse and electrocution.

Animals have also faced troubles due to this disastrous rainfall and 10 animals lost their lives.

Previously on August 1 due to heavy rainfall 14 people got died in 11 districts of the Uttar Pradesh. Two people were killed each in Bahraich and Farukhabad while one each got killed in Raebareli, Kheri, Lucknow, Dehat, Kanpur, Sitapur, Sultanpur, and Barabanki.

Till Tuesday the death toll was increased to 92 and cattle lost to over 80 with 600 houses damaged.
