Gurmeet Singh Planned To Hide In Himachal Pradesh After Fleeing

Weeks after the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in 15-year-old rape case, the Haryana police have revealed that the commandos who tried to escape with the Dera chief post the August 25 verdict, had planned to hide him in Himachal Pradesh.

Senior police officials have said that there were some cops who had tried to flee him from the court to Himachal Pradesh after which he would have been shifted to a safer location once the issue cooled down.

While Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manbir Singh did confirm the remand of three commandoes and one Rajasthan cop, he refused to go into further details.

The DCP said, "This is a matter of investigation. We are looking for more people who are part of this conspiracy. Some of them played significant roles on in violence in the city which erupted after the Dera head was convicted."

As per reports, a total of 12 cops have been arrested in suspicion of involvement with the conspiracy to flee rape convict Gurmeet Singh amid the large-scale violence that erupted after the CBI court's verdict holding him guilty of raping two of his women followers at Dera Sacha Sauda headquarter in Haryana's Sirsa.

Five of these police officers were arrested in Panchkula immediately after they tried to free the dera chief while Recommended By Colombiathree Punjab police commandos were also arrested.

As the Dera Chief came out of the CBI court post verdict, two of his sadhvis, some cops from his Z+ security cover along with some other police official attached to his security, allegedly tried to escape him amid the violence that erupted from the news of the verdict.

The police conveyed that Dera Sacha Sauda has a huge following base in Himachal Pradesh as well who would have helped in hiding Gurmeet Singh.
