A Gurjar youth was arrested on Saturday late evening for throwing ink at Patidar community leader Hardik Patel in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain. The youth, identified as Milind Gurjar threw ink on Patel outside the Meghdoot Hotel in Ujjain when Patel was about to enter the hotel with supporters to address a press conference.

Gurjar, who claims to be a member of the Gurjar Mahasabha was standing in the crowd near the hotel when Patel approached, when he suddenly threw a bottle full of ink on Patel, shouting that the young Patidar leader was dividing the society and was a traitor.

Patel's supporters nabbed Gurjar after he threw the ink and beat him up before policemen in Patel's security took Gurjar into custody. Gurjar was then taken to the Nanakhera police station for detailed questioning.

Ujjain district superintendent of police Sachin Atulkar quoted by The New Indian Express said, "It seems the youngster is drunk, owing to which we are unable to grill him properly.”
