Google Doodle Honours 12 Women Artists On International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, Google honoured women with a doodle on Thursday. The Google Doodle features visual animated stories of 12 female artists from varied backgrounds in a slider and has been translated into more than 80 languages, according to Google.

While Google approached the 12 featured women for the Google Doodle, the company also made an attempt to encourage other women across the world to share their own stories for International Women’s Day.

Google doodle generated the hashtag “#HerStoryOurStory” on Twitter for women who want to share their stories.

For the first time on March 19, 1911, International Women's Day was celebrated in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. It was transferred to March 8, 1913, and since then it is celebrated every year on this day.
