Goa CM Manohar Parrikar Hospitalised Again, May Travel Abroad For Further Treatment

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has been hospitalised once again at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Monday.

Before leaving for Mumbai, Parrikar constituted a cabinet advisory committee meeting at his private residence in Dona Paula comprising of senior ministers, Vijai Sardesai, Sudin Dhavalikar and Francis D’Souza. The meeting authorised them to sanction up to Rs 5 crore in his absence for emergency needs that include administrative expenses.

In a video message, Parrikar conveyed, to get fully cured he may go abroad. He said, "I am thankful to all. In the last 15 days, you have been praying for me and you have blessed me because of which I got well and to get fully cured I may go abroad,"

"The way you have prayed for me and blessed me, I hope to get the same thing during my treatment there. I expect that you all will allow me a leave for some days from the state for the treatment," he further added.

The chief minister's office came out with a statement on Parikkar's health. The statement reads, "Hon’ble Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will be travelling to Mumbai today for further medical checkup and based on doctor’s advice may travel overseas for further treatment."
