Gangster Rajesh Bharti Among Five Criminals Killed In An Encounter With Delhi Police

The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Saturday shot down gangster Rajesh Bharti and four members of his gang in an encounter that took place in the Chhattarpur area of South West Delhi. Six police personnel were also injured during the encounter.

Bharti was wanted by the Delhi and Haryana police in multiple cases and was carrying a reward of Rs 1 Lakh on his arrest and had fled from the custody of Haryana police. As per media reports, four accomplishes of Bharti were rushed to hospital but they succumbed to their injuries mid-way.

As per reports, the Delhi police had laid a trap after receiving a tip-off about Bharti’s presence in the area. The criminals were travelling in a Ford Endeavour car.

Bharti was the kingpin of his gang known as the ‘Rajesh Bharti Gang’ and was wanted for several cases of murder, extortion and various other crimes. He was arrested first time in the murder case of his own father in the year 1993 in PS Jind. Since then he has been committing one after the other sensational offences of murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom, carjacking and robberies. His terror is very widely felt in the districts of Jind, Gurgaon, and Sonepat.
