Fodder Scam: Lalu Yadav's Sentencing Postponed To Tomorrow

Former Bihar Chief Minister and the Supremo of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s sentencing has been postponed because of the death of advocate Vindeshwari Prasad.


Yadav was convicted by the special court on December 23rd and was sent to Birsa Munda central prison immediately after the conviction. Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra, who was one of the Prime-accused of the fodder scam, was aquitted by the special CBI court.

The sentencing was to be announced today by Special CBI court judge Shivapal Singh. This is the second fodder scam case in which the RJD leader has been convicted.

Earlier today the court had found RJD leaders Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Tejashwi Yadav and Manoj Jha guilty of contempt of court. The court has directed them to personally appear before the court on 23 January.
